Known issues and help

SetHub is a working name, run by BridgeGap For Builders, LLC.

From 10 November to 5 December, answers come from a phone. We can tell you what to try, but we cannot ship a fix until after 5 December. If this page doesn’t fix it, stop testing and send the diagnostics file (see “Send us a log” below), and say what you were doing. That is the most useful thing you can do. Write to [email protected]. Replies at any time may take several days.

Last updated: October 2026. SetHub can control Govee and Nanoleaf lights. WLED, Philips Hue, Shelly smart plugs and Elgato key lights are previews.

Your beta

The beta starts on November 4, 2026 and runs to January 31, 2027. Nothing is charged during the beta. We will email you about what comes next before the beta ends.

Lights do not respond

  1. Same Wi-Fi as the PC? Bluetooth-only lights do not work.
  2. Govee: LAN Control on in the Govee Home app. Nanoleaf: when asked, hold the controller's power button 5 to 7 seconds. A Key Light Air MK.2 is controlled through Elgato Control Center: install it, keep it running, then press Look for lights.
  3. Your router may have given the lights, or the PC, a new address. This is the most common cause, and it happens after a router restart or a power cut. SetHub looks for Govee and Nanoleaf lights at their new address by itself, and SetHub may say "network address changed; using the automatic choice instead". Give it a minute; if they are still dark, restart SetHub. If a light still says "no LAN reply": open the panel, Devices, Your lights, remove that light, add it again with "Look for lights" (or type its new address from your router's device list), then restart SetHub. To stop it happening again, give each light and the PC a fixed address in your router (often called a "DHCP reservation").
  4. Windows calls your network "Public"? Change it to Private, or the iPad cannot reach SetHub.
  5. Still nothing: Connections card (Overview), press Test, then Restart. While you are live, Test is off and Restart asks first.

Lights stuck after a crash or shutdown

Start SetHub (Start menu, SetHub Beta), then press Stop hub on the Settings tab. Stop puts the lights back. Press Stop (or End stream night) before shutting Windows down.

Send us a log

Panel, Diagnostics tab, "Save diagnostics". The zip is saved by your browser, normally to Downloads. It holds your settings and the last three logs with addresses, names and secrets removed, and goes nowhere until you attach it to an email. If SetHub will not start, use Start menu, SetHub Beta, "Save SetHub Diagnostics"; it saves the same zip to your Desktop. Raw logs live in %APPDATA%\SetHub\logs (newest 14 kept). If you attach a screenshot, crop out viewer names.

Reinstall without losing settings

Run the Setup file again over the top. Your settings, lights and paired devices are kept. Last resort: stop SetHub, delete the SetHub folder under %APPDATA%, start again, add your lights and pair your iPad again. The beta end date stays the same after a full reset.

Windows warning at install

"Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway. If the installer is not signed, or is newly signed, Windows SmartScreen may show this. It is not a sign of a problem.

Flashing lights

Some flashes wait for a gap by design: flashes in the room are held 0.4 seconds apart; settings can only make the gap longer; it can never be switched off. Steady studio lights and smart plugs that SetHub only switches on or off are outside the guard. Warn viewers that your stream contains flashing lights, and turn the lights down if anyone feels unwell.

Waiting for players

Check cable and power. Close rekordbox link mode and any other DJ-link app; only one app can hold the connection. Restart SetHub.

Overlay blank in TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS

Start SetHub first, then the streaming app. The address must end in index.html. Add ?r=2 to reload it.

iPad or phone: cannot reach the hub

If the remote says "Hub offline, reconnecting", the PC is asleep, SetHub is closed or the Wi-Fi dropped. The lights keep whatever they were doing, the remote tries again every few seconds, and its controls stay off until SetHub answers. Wake the PC or start SetHub, then press Try now. If it says "Cannot reach the hub": same Wi-Fi, firewall box ticked at install, network set to Private. Pair at home. At a venue, put the PC and iPad on your phone's hotspot.

When the beta ends

The beta runs to January 31, 2027. About a week before, the panel shows a notice. After that date, music-following lighting pauses when your stream ends, and your lights go back to how they were. We will email you before the date about what comes next.
